Can You Upload A 120fps Youtube Video

120hz mode - but youtube is yet 60fps

  1. chubs12 , Jun five, 2020 :
Do you too notice that in 120hz mode - several apps still just run in 60fps.
I just noticed youtube being ane of them - and I dont mean on fullscreen, playing a video - just just "browsing" the listings.. it is visibly choppier (60fps)...

  2. flither , Jun v, 2020 :
At that place is no single 120fps video on Youtube, all are capped to 60fps or less, as far equally I know and checked.
    I may be wrong though

  3. Hdfxsts , Jun 5, 2020 :
If y'all're watching YouTube videos in Chrome browser
It volition be running in 120 fps

    Axonoff and flither similar this.
  4. flither , Jun 6, 2020 :
Hmm, I've never seen any 120fps Youtube video on a mobile or PC.
Tin can you really run across 720p 120fps, 1080p 120fps or 1440p 120fps when choosing quality in Youtube in Chrome? I've never seen these options and I don't think it'due south possible.
I've seen some videos titled "120fps ..........." just all of them were 60fps for me

  5. Hdfxsts , Jun half-dozen, 2020 :
I gauge information technology's upscaling or I can't trust the on screen fps counter??

  6. chubs12 , Jun 6, 2020 :
No, equally I mentioned, it *isn't* when im watching an actual video - that'southward fine (60fps at best).

But when y'all are "browsing" the youtube app, scrolling through videos, it's awfully choppy 60fps compared to 120fps as it "should exist" in 120hz mode.

    120hz doesn't hateful 120 fps,these are 2 different things

  8. flither , Jun 6, 2020 :
Sorry, misunderstood your post (damn Friday night) :p

  9. chubs12 , via OnePlus 8 Pro , Jun 6, 2020 :
certain. so it means oneplus capped YouTube to be 60fps fifty-fifty in browsing videos.

instead of letting it run 120fps, which it can handle.

Yeah I noticed this too. I have my device since launch and in the starting time week or and then YouTube was running at 120 Hz. Couple updates later information technology was on lx Hz. I'm sure it is a software bug. Because when y'all restart your phone and going to YouTube it will run in 120 Hz for a brusk while.

  11. Batfink32 , via OnePlus 8 Pro , Jun half dozen, 2020 :
I'd guarantee this is one of their dark-green tint "fixes". With YouTube on dark mode to y'all can meet the display change from light-green tint at 120hz to a redder tint on YouTube 60hz. They're trying to hide the green tint on YouTube videos.

  12. chubs12 , Jun 7, 2020 :
Well tbh I doubt they can always fix this. They never could.
It is a tradeoff game.. you just attempt to mitigate and hide it. The console spec has its flaws, elementary as that.

120hz and 60hz has dissimilar gamma tables and tuning, they're trying to friction match them upwardly.
you lot can observe sudden flash on the screen when the screen switches over from 120 to 60 upon entering youtube.. (because the tint shifts I gauge). That in itself is fine.

I'd rather proceed 120fps in Youtube.. ffs let me cull, i've already set it to 120hz.

    F7Kev and Batfink32 like this.

Scrolling in Youtube should be 120hz not the video playback. For at present you tin can use the autohz app on the play store to force it to 120hz scrolling. However if y'all picket a video and go back to scrolling information technology will probable return to 60hz. If that happens just apply put the app in the background and return to it and scrolling volition return to 120hz. I know for a fact that the YouTube app properly supports 120hz considering information technology work without issue on my brother'southward Samsung Galaxy S20 Atomic number 26, it's always locked at 120hz. And so this is definitely on OnePlus'due south end. Fix it!

  14. Axonoff , via OnePlus 9R , Feb 6, 2022 :
Other bone don't take that problem. Moreover, when i open up a mini window in youtube vanced, youtube native magically works at 120hz (scroll and interface)
